    During the 2nd MITIN Symposium in Brest in October 2014, recognizing the global lack of
    ocean data and the fundamental importance of this data especially in coastal waters and the
    EEZ for almost all human maritime activities the conference participants jointly agreed on
    this declaration claiming for better internationl infrastructure and cooperation for ocean
    data acquisition, evaluation and usage.
